1998 Ezgo Golf Cart
1998 Ezgo -driving golf cart, stopped, went to start back and it would not go in forward or reverse. Smelled burnt wire. Wire from solenoid to computer looks a little melted. Solenoid and Forward/Reverse have been checked out. Any ideas what to try next? Oh, and batteries are about a month old and are fully charged.

Usually that wire fries due to a failing/overheating solenoid. Be ready to deal.with that next. Is the solenoid terminal a little crooked? Does it have a "straw" color, instead of copper like it's supposed to? Is the black insulator at the base of the terminal bubbly-looking? These are all signs of a bad solenoid.
