2001 Club Car DS Jerky taking off and at high end
I have a 2001 Club Car DS 300 amp altrax 48 volt with trojan batteries. As you accelerate it is jerky and at full throttle it will jerk some and you can tell there is still some power loss, as it will occasionally jerk and you can feel it has more speed to give. Not quite getting to it's real top speed.

to BGW
You may have a faulty MCOR, which is the electronic throttle device. It is a little black box under the cart on the passenger's side. With the cart turned off, pump the go pedal roughly 30 times. Then drive the cart. If things improve, the MCOR needs to be replaced. You can also view your throttle readings using the Alltrax toolkit software. |

Thanks. it's been going on for awhile and now being stuck at home i have some time to look at the issue. I'll take a look at the MCOR.

Re: 2001 Club Car DS Jerky taking off and at high end
Seems like it did improve when i tried what you said. Easier on the take off and seemed to get to full speed. Still jumpy if you try to just inch forward (not intending to take off). But it seemed better when you take off and at top speed.
If this is indeed the MCOR, does anyone have suggestions on purchasing options for the conversion kit. How do you know your not getting cheap Chinese knock-off parts? |

Looks like you ca buy after market replacement for the original OEM MCOR or you can buy a conversion kit to get to MCOR 4.
THoughts on best option? I have an Alltrax 300 Amp controller on the 48 volt as mentioned above. Sounds like these cheap aftermarket parts are prone to failure, so wondering if the $40 for the MCOR makes sense vs converting it for between $100 and $180 depending on source. Seems like they are all after market, so not sure if the extra money makes sense. |

Avoid the aftermarket MCORs. A lot of times they don’t even work right out of the box. And when they do work, they don’t work for long. Before we get too far, first make sure that you have an MCOR and not a V-glide. The V-glide will be a pie shaped box between the batteries under the seat, while the MCOR is under the cart. Both can be converted to the new MCOR, but there are two different kits.
