What do you think of the Club Car Precedent?
my home course has these and i am going to buy one later when they get a new fleet.
What do you think about them. I love them and they are pretty good. Thay also take a good beating. My buddy and me were on one a hole where the path to the next is a long downhill slope and i put the run/ tow switch to tow and let it FLY DOWN THE HILL. my friend stoped at the bottom, wondering where i was,and i couldnt really stop fast enough so i plowed into the back of his at like 24MPH. Nothing too bad happened except my little front bumper smashed in and his cart got launched 20 feet ahead. Back to the point: what do you think about them? |

LOL!!
I personally like the look of the DS models better. Other then that I don't think they are a bad cart. Not sure but I think the bucket style seats make it harder to fit 3 across the front. I have 4 little ones so we always have one in the middle up front. |

Re: What do you think of the Club Car Precedent?
If you get one be prepared for a total suckfest...I purchased one new, well it had 4 hours on the clock-and I had nothing but grief with this cart! 1st was the batteries-we won't go there..2nd and most important was the front end suspension-it had the durability of a potato chip. I sold it within a year, bought a new DS and still have it. For some reason, the DS's just are better. They're better engineered and seem to have had all the bugs worked out of them long ago. They've been around since, what, 1982 so there is the proof of their longevity. I think if you went with a DS you won't be sorry. Oh, and for what its worth, there's a TON more aftermarket items for the DS. Just my .02

Re: What do you think of the Club Car Precedent?
We have an '05 Precedent that I got used.
The charging is controlled by a computer (OBC) and mine will only charge to 49 + volts. Club Car won't help or give any kind of a break towards purchase of new OBC. I hear Club Car has replaced the 4 - 12 volt batteries with 8 volt batteries, which tells me the 4 battery idea is not so good Buying a new or used car, I would get a warranty in writing. Good luck - have fun ! Dave |

Re: What do you think of the Club Car Precedent?
I bought an 05 precedent. I'm the 3 rd owner. The batteries were 06's. There were not charging and boiling over. Thanks to this site I called the club car distributor for Wisconsin and told them my OBC was version 2.7 or something like that. They came to my storage shed and replaced the OBC with version 3.0 and replaced all the batteries also. Had I not read this forum and remembered I had read something about the OBC I would have just bought new batteries. Cart seems to run fine for me. I'm happy.....just my 2 cents Steve
