Default Re: Ordered my Purple motor!

I jacked up the buggy and put a couple of solid blocks under the chassis as I did not want to take any risk.

The spline does hold the motor, but I used a small trolley jack, just touching the motor and tied a piece of webbing around the motor and jack and then used the jack to lower it down.

With the new motor from Plum Quick it has an handle built in, so I put this in from the motor access panel.

Hope this helps.

Am I pretty safe if I disconnect the main positive and negative lead from the battery pack? I have done many mods, but electricity scares me! :)

I appreciate it! I assume when I am done to connect the negative and then the positive?

I installed my pq motor a couple of weeks ago but I didnt put any grease on the spline. Am I gonna be sorry later? Should I take it back out and put some grease on it? Now I'm worried. I havent used it too much, just up and down the street a few times to make sure it worked.

The motor I got already had some grease inside the spline of the motor. I am pretty sure they all do. Correct me if I'm wrong. I did, however, shoot a little in. I don't think you will have any issues.

seadoo - I didnt grease my spline either on my PQ motor. It was pre-greased from them. I probably shouldve added more, but I didnt have any at the time of install. I've had it on for months now and have had no issues.
