Surging caused by running rich?
I just bought my first cart. It is a 2006 gas EZGO that when warmed up will not run smoothly at just above idle speed. If I lightly push the accelerator the engines "surges" while I am trying to maintain a very low speed (not an issue at higher speeds). I have only had the cart for 2 weeks but it seems to be worse on warmer days. I can also smell gas on occasion with a slight backfire every once in a while. I am also told that there is sometime a whitish-blue smoke upon acceleration.
Is this likely a carburetor adjustment issue, a governor issue, a valve issue, or something else? If carburetor, is there an adjustment I can make to lean it out. |

Re: Surging caused by running rich?
not really much for adjustment on the carb, you can turn the pilot screw clockwise some till it stops. I doubt it's the problem, probably the throttle cable sticking. might be a belt problem, measure it's width in a few places. they can make the cart feel like it's surging
