New Member, Question about automatic hill brake?
Hello, I am new to the world of cart ownership as well as this fourm. I have been looking around for a few days and I am very impressed with the information on this site. A little overwhelmed but none the less impressed. I just purchased an 02 TXT. I have been driving carts since I was a kid but first time owning one. I know that some of the carts I have driven in the past had some type of govenor on them that limited the speed when going down hills. My property is very hilly and my children will eventually be driving my cart. My TXT does not seem to have this feature. Is this something that is on stock carts and have been removed from my TXT? Is there some way it could be added? Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions / help

First off Welcome, we need to identify your cart correctly just to make sure, is the fnr by your leg, or on the dash with a toggle over the controller box?

Thank you for the welcome. The foward, neutral, reverse swith / lever is by my leg, under the seat.

Your doesn't have regen then. Thats not a governor it's regen which puts power back into the battery by motor braking.

It does not sound like it would be an easy mod to add a regen brake system on my cart. Any other suggestions that would accomplish the same goal?

You really wanted to buy a PDS cart. That would have had the roll away protection and the regen braking .... any way you can trade up?

actually, I would suggest a RXV model. When you let go of the accelerator it has a regen to 0 and when you step off the cart, the electronic brake will hold the cart on the hill (up to I believe a 55 degree incline) without the need to apply ANY brake.
