Need to pick yall's brain
2006 EZ GO PDS lifted 22" inch tires. New batteries, new alltrax controller, new hd solenoid, 4 gauge wire, stock motor. We have a local guy that has a shop so all the work has been done by someone who does it everyday.
The issue: I do not think it has the proper range it died on me the other day and I checked battery voltage 4 batteries at 6.1v, 2 batteries at 5.2v. So i figure 2 bad batteries. They are only 5 weeks old but I guess it could happen. I then checked all connections had a cold beverage did something for the wife about 30 minutes. I then rechecked the voltage all batteries at 6.1V. Hummmm. I fully charged overnight had a reading of 38.3v. 6.3v on every battery. I then had my son start driving a known distance of 2.2 miles. We checked each battery voltage after each run 1st - 6.3v #1-6 2nd - 6.1v #1-6 3rd - 6.1v #1-6 4th - 6.1v #2,#4,#5,#6 and 5.4v - #1 and 5.1v -#3 Last run (4th) cart barely made it home but 20 minutes after the check I drove it to the garage to charge and it ran fine?????????? Do I have 2 bad batteries? Thanks TC |

Re: Need to pick yall's brain
Seems like it. IMO You really shouldnt get blow 6. If your gonna buy batts go for 48 volts.
1 bad battery can do strange things. (like range) If 1 is bad it can cause the others to be overcharged. |
