Default 6 gauge wire?

I have seen many people have 4 gauge wire as an upgrade. I found 6 gauge wires from the Lawn and Garden at Wal-Mart. Would 6 gauge create any benefit or harm?

Absolutely no benefit unless you don't have any cables at all. 6 is smaller than 4. 6 is stock.

You want 4g welding cable with a 400+ strand count and solid copper lugs. Anything else is not worth the effort.

So if I am just running a 36v PDS with speed chip will the 4g make any difference?

It will make a difference to how your components operate but it will not make any performance difference which you are going to feel in the drivers seat with a stock controller .... chip or no chip.
