Burning wires than revving noise and no speed
Smelled burring wires in my 1998 ezgo txt. So changed the solenoid to battery one but the new wire burned as well? I used 4ga Copper battery wire. The wire from the motor to solenoid is burning as well? Why would this be happening? Thanks

Everyone has a TXT E-G-GO 1998 is a beginning. You need to give us more info on this cart first. What model is it? What has been done to it? Pictures are worth thousands of words on a forum!!!

Re: Burning wires than revving noise and no speed
"no speed" As in zero speed/no go? Or just slow but still moves?
Makes a big difference as where to look for the short Also cart rolls free right? Not something silly as stuck brakes or anything like that? |

Re: Burning wires than revving noise and no speed
first no-no is using a battery cable. You do mean an automotive battery cable right?

Quote:
After fixing the third connection I realized I'm dealing with a dead short so I felt dumb looking back at the motor wires (cables)and found one of the motor wires broke/melted off and landed on the next connection below welding itself to it. (on the motor) But your cart moves so it's probably something else. Look over all the wires and look for obvious signs of any of them possibly melting together or shorting to anything. More info/pictures of the cart guts would increase your chance that someone here will point out something. |
