got the fual pumping agean, has spark

the valves arnt working now and ive traced it down to inside the block but i am very unfamiliar with how this small engine works, what exactly pushes the rods up from the block that could have stopped working? dosent seem like a very easy fix, joy

Holy cow what happened to this? Make sure the pushrods are down in the right spot on the lifter then do they go up/down? Cam runs off the crank if its not turning you have a major problem, time to rebuild or buy a clone.

So i pulled the engine out and was about to bust the bad buy open when i found what the problem was

someone who owned the cart before me thought it was a good idea to take the drive shaft bolt out and replace it with the wrong bolt and striped it out so the clutch and flywheel were spinning free with out moving the drive shaft it self, the bolt and the shaft threads look striped so i ordered the correct bolt and will see just how bad the threads are on the shaft when i get it in

could be a $10 fix (i hope) but if the threads on the shaft are to far gone it could end up costing me ******* $250 for a new shaft if its to far gone to re-thread

lets hope its the easy side lol

and now some new pics of some work i did tonight since i could do now more on the engine for the moment

If that bolt is out of the secondary clutch, there is a woodruff key under the outside sheave. Probably sheared off

no idea what it is supposed to look like but no i dident not see anything that would be a woodruff key, anyone got a pic of what it should look like to compair?

maybe i can rig one up some how?

its the main bolt holding the centrifugal clutch on to the starter and i guess main drive shaft spider and all, when i replaced the weights 6 months back it was a pain to get the spider off and the main part dident move but when i took the bolt out agean the whole time just droped off. I noticed the bolt being a little worn at the time but dident think much of it becauce it dident look all that bad. really wish i would have thought more of it now

Crank shafts are pretty hard, so there's a good chance the threads are still good. But you need the correct bolt this time!

SMALLLLLLLLBLOCK!!!!!!!!, HELLLLPPPP!!!

got the new bolt and it looks just like the old one sept its not striped lol

checked the crank shaft to flywheel/clutch meeting point and i see nothing at all that resembles a key

is this how its supposed to be? tempted to put some locktight around the nub before installing to help lock it together
