I'm going to ask a question that may get some thought going among the members. Is there any chance that you missed lining up the timing marks on the camshaft when you reassembled the engine, causing the valve timing to be off ?? I suppose an early opening of the exhaust valve could result in combustion taking place in the exhaust area of the head and pipe to the muffler. I'm thinking this may be a possibility as everything you've checked so far hasn't resulted in a solution. Good luck - RAY

Glowing exhaust is a sign of running real lean or possibly ignition timing being off. Are you sure you have the correct carb for this model? Check for leaks at the intake manifold. If that doesn't reveal anything, then you need to look for an oddball problem in the ignition system. Timing is not adjustable, so things like the pickup coil damaged or installed improperly, flywheel magnets damaged or not timed correctly (sheared key?) or possibly a bad CDI box.
How does the engine start and run in general? This should give you a clue which direction to take.

I just read bigstik40's reply- that's a good one worth looking into.

I guess it could be poss I did not line up timing marks, but cart runs really good until it gets hot, I thought timing off would make it run bad

Any grey is bad unless you are running VP114 octane race gas.
House mouse brown is what you want.

I would start by checking the size of the jet in the new carb and the old carb.
