Stock clutch balance.
I read something about a year ago, in the manual, about reinstalling the sheave on the primary clutch. There is a V-groove on the end of the fixed sheave. The zirk fitting is suppose to line up directly opposite that v-groove on the spline. I can only guess it is for balance. I replaced the sheave over 2 yrs. ago, not knowing about that groove. I always had a vibration under half throttle. Well just a few days ago, I removed the sheave and lined the zirk up opposite the groove, and I'm pretty sure the vibration is gone.
My finger is pointing to the groove in one picture, in all pictures, the groove is in the 9:00 position. If you guys have had the primary apart, you may want to check that you put it back together correctly. Have fun with this one guys!! |
