cart runs in tow mode

Hey guys, rookie here looking to buy 1st cart to use on my hunting property. I am looking at a 03 lifted ds where the tow switch doesnt work, the cart runs in tow mode just as run mode. Seller thought switch was only if he was towing something with the cart and said it hasnt worked since he has owned the cart. Question is does this throw up a red flag for potential problems down the road? Any other red flags a newbie should be on the lookout for? Any help is greatly appreciated. Site has been invaluable so far.

Probably not a big issue. Most likely just a bad switch. Un-plug the tow run switch and see if it still runs. If it does you may have a more serious issue. If it stops running once you unplug the switch that's a good thing. It means the switch is stuck closed. Replace the switch and you'll be good to go.
