Will my stock 36V motor hold up?
Hello again everyone,
I am catching some local opinions and they seem to think that my 36V stock motor will not hold up to the 48V conversion kit supplied by Scottyb. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? As an FYI: I have not done any tweeking or tinkering on the components that came from Scottyb. |

It will absolutely hold up to the 48 conversion!! I have it on 3 of my CCs, now for over 4 yrs and no problems. Next best thing to getting a Plum Quick motor!!

We hear this time and again. I have helped hundreds of cart owners convert to 48 using their existing 36v motors. The modest increase in voltage is easily handled by the golf cart motors. Many people are well into their 4th or 5th year with these over-volted motors. The increase in voltage results in a decrease in amperage for the same task. The decrease in amperage results in lower operating temperatures. Of course the biggest factor in motor longevity is the operator. If you are hard on your motor you can kill on 36 or 48 voltage. Your mileage may vary. I feel very confident in the 42 & 48v conversions. Some people have also had success installing 36v motors in stock 48v series carts. |

It is comforting to get these opinions. This is my first build and perhaps I spooked a little too easy
Thank you ! Shawn |

I called Scotty on the phone several times and numerous emails/PM before I bought the kit I was very glad afterwards. His kit has very illustrated directions.
