Default Governor Adjust on 2010 Ezgo Workhorse 1200G

Hello,
My apologies if this was already covered.

I just bought a Workhorse 1200 with a Kawasaki gas engine and I am trying to adjust the governor to gain a little more speed.

I have reviewed the posts that cover the nuts on either side of the spring. My linkage does not however look like this.

My linkage consists of a spring on the end of the throttle cable connected to an adjustable bracket.

I have adjusted the bracket with some success, but after reading about other manufacturers linkages it occurs to me this evening that I may need to take the slack out of the throttle cable to get better success.

Is there anyone out there that is familiar with adjusting this setup?

I have installed a tachometer to ensure I do not over-rev the engine. I am assuming that I should not exceed 4k rpm on the Kawasaki engine.

Thank you for any input. Just farm use, not looking to race, just more speed between chores.

The spring on top is for your shifter. I have not seen this set up yet but I would say you should try and adjust the black bolt in the center of the silver arm in the center of your pic. I would loosen that nut and move the two pieces in different directions and see what you get?

Ok. The black marks are the stock setting. I moved the plates to the shown setting. RPM 3850ish on tach.

Thanks for the input Bean. Wanting to make sure I am not fouling something up.

Totally new on golf carts / buggies.
