Does 6v x 6 + 12v = 48v???
Just a crazy thought. If I have a 36v system what would happen of I add 12v battery to it will it run as 48v with some other parts modified? Has anyone ever tried to convert this way to avoid swapping all batteries. I have a feeling prob not but figure I'd ask for sh#ts and giggles. Been a long day at work. Lol.

No, you risk certain battery damage or worse.

your math is correct .. your idea is whats flawed ... charger would over charge 12v battery

ALL batteries in series must be same capacity and similar state of "newness"

Ok so much for that. Figured I'd throw it out there. I want my cart to go faster I just can't see spending over $600 (that prob doesnt even include the batteries) to do the 48v conversion.
Once in a while I see 48v DS carts in the mid to late 90's going for like $300-400 with no batteries. Would it be worth buying that and using the parts to convert my cart to 48v to save $$$ ? |
