1989 EZGO will go then stop
Our 1989 ezgo will run and go fine then it just stops moving, take foot off gas wait a minute then it will move a little then stop again. I recall having this problem in the past and for the life of me I can not remember what the problem is. New fuel pump and filter installed. Stumped! It is gas not electric.

Re: 1989 EZGO will go then stop
Try loosening the gas cap and see if it runs without stopping you have found the prob. plugged cap vent. May also be filter that is slow in allowing fuel to pass. After it takes the fuel in line it takes a bit to push some through but then again same prob.
That is what I would look at first. |

A filter can act this way, plugs, stalls> debris falls from filter paper and will run again until it fills up again.

Yes, you didn't mention if you checked the filter for flow? Could also be something in the tank that floats over the pickup.
Try pulling line from carb after jacking rear end up or pulling plug wire off and seeing if you get a constant flow of fuel while turning engine over for a bit. Check all lines from tank to carb also. |

Mine has done this a couple times. As a matter of fact, It did exactly what you described yesterday. Every time there has been a little debris stuck in the main jet.

Old fuel lines may be deteriorating internally.

May want to add secondary filter just before the carb with new line past if you do not want to change fuel lines.
