Default No Go EZ-Go

I have an old 88 EZ-Go, that has stopped going. Prior to quitting, it would on occasion not go after changing from forward to reverse, but if you turned the selector back and for a time or two it would go. It sat for a couple months and I went to use it and nada.

I cleaned all the terminals, and checked the ignition switch. Still nothing. When I jump the solenoid, with the key on and press the pedal it will go both forward and reverse. Do I just need to replace it or is there something else I need to check?

Thanks for the help.

The F&R contacts wear over time. In a 1988 cart it is best to replace the F&R switch completely as it is 25 yrs old. This is likely causing the problem you describe

The locaL guy mentioned that too. I gambled and bought a new solenoid and .....IT WORKS!! Yay!

When I saw your post I was kicking myself but I decided to try it anyway to eliminate one more thing.

Thanks for the input though.
