The guy I got the cart from was running 3 12v batteries. The new black one is acid, the other 2 gels. He had an acid in there as well and it went dead so I simply swapped it out.

your charger is not for gel batteries they need a different type of charge

OK, was just wondering since all the talk in the thread seemed geared towards 6V battery's.
You are still probably going to have charging problems since you have gel battery's mixed with a lead acid battery.
Gel battery's are a different animal and usually have different charging requirements.
