Charging problems
I,m a very new kid on the block. I recently purchased my first cart. It is a 2006 Ezgo. My problem is that I drove it about 30 min. after I brought it home and pluged the charger in and it did not kick on, i drove it a few more min. and plugged it in again still nothing. I took the charger to a Ezgo dealer and they tested it on a cart they had and it worked. I brought the charger back home and tried it again and still didnt work. Does anyone have any suggestions. Keep in mind i know nothing about Electric Carts.
Thanks in advance, Ronnie |

Re: Charging problems
Does the outlet you used have power? If so, make sure it is shoved all the way in the charging recepticle and wait for a clicking sound. If not, I'm not sure.

Re: Charging problems
Lift the seat and look on the back of the charge receptacle. should have two wires coming from it. Make sure these are connected. one should go to the first battery and the other the solenoid. at least on mine it does :-)

Re: Charging problems
I know if you battery pack is down below 28 volts total it won't come on, but you've been driving it so....What kind of charger is it? Same voltage as your cart right?

Re: Charging problems
IDK, 33 volts is low, though. 38.4 volts is a good pack voltage fully charged. 6.37 or 6.4 per battery. You may have a bad battery or some weak ones, but your charger should still work, I would think.

Re: Charging problems
from what I have read the charger should kick on unless it is below 28 volts..so when i plug in the charger at 33 volts it should charge but it does not come on. i'm confussed

Re: Charging problems
In 2006 they placed a 60 AMP "MEGA FUSE" in line on the white wire that runs from the charger recpticle to the 36 volt positive terminal on the battery pack. Have you checked this fuse yet? E-Z-GO does not put the wires for the cart on the fused side, only the charger wire is fused. Chances are that the fuse is blown.
