Newbie on Battery Charger and RVing with a Cart
We just got our 07PDS as a family Christmas Gift. It will mainly be used on our RV Trips.
I have tried to do some searches, but can not find specific answers to the following: When camping, we will be charging (Powerwise QE Charger) overnight while we are sleeping, here are some questions as it relates to this:
What is the best way to secure the cart itself while camping and unattended? We are looking forward to using our new cart this year, and will have our first camping trip of the season in four weeks. Any other suggestions and thoughts on anything cart wise while camping/rving will be appreciated. Thanks, Jeff |

Is it safe to run the charger sitting in the area under the driver side of the seat in the empty space next to the batteries? - Thinking of buying a cable lock that can lock the seat handles to the seat frame to keep it shut. Yes, just make sure that you have enough space and good ventilation from the bottom of the cart. If the question to above is no, what is the best thing to safe guard against rain while the charger is out in the open? I have put chargers under the RV on blocks for long periods without harm. Keep it dry and plenty of cooling air and you should be fine. If you are worried about theft, I would recommend going to other camp-sites, other wise a dry area near an outlet is fine for charging a cart. |

Re: Newbie on Battery Charger and RVing with a Cart
Ive been camping for about three years now and from what Ive seen it appears that Campers leave other campers things alone. Im a Detective so Im always wondering anyway about theft in the campgrounds we go to. Theres some decent Rv-er's out there. But you still have to wonder about outsiders coming at night if the place is not secure. V

I haven't taken mine camping just, but plan to. I never even thought about thieft. haven't had an issue yet.
Running the charger under the seat should be fine. I guess you could lock/chain it to your RV or nearby tree. |

I have never seen a charger walk on carts we have rented either. My first concern really was keeping the charger dry if a storm comes along at night, that is where the under the seat question comes from. Then it just go me to thinking about securing a few things. Then what got me thinking about the cart security was our upcoming trip to Cherry Hill (large DC RV Resort) in DC. If we are far from the Metro Bus stop in the campground, I was thinking of just driving and parking the cart by the stop while we take the metro into DC for the day. I don't like the thought of the cart just sitting there unsecured. |
