Default Anyone know where this thread is? Locking seat....

I recall seeing a thread where the cart owner was doing some kind of upgrade to his cart and chronicled in his thread a reall neat way to lock/secure the battery compartment using an automotive trunk latch mechanism...... Might have been last year, or maybe even the year before last....

Anyone know where that thread is???? I thought it was an EZGO but I could be wrong.

I believe it is in the lowered carts thread. I know that HotCat had a mechanism like that on his lowered EZ GO build. Hope that helps.

I would rather put the actuator / mechanism on the body of the cart to slide a rod into a loop that it screwed to the bottom of the seat.
That way the seat could be easily and completely removed from the cart if you wanted to.

Thanks, that's pretty clever but it's not what I was looking for....

I remember the thread as a build thread and the fellow installed security/anti-theft "stuff", including, I think a cut-off switch controlled remotely (automotive security system) annnnnnnnnd he installed a locking mechanism below his seat that used an automotive locking solenoid and a couple of bellcranks and rods to lock the seat down to prevent access to the battery compartment......Any of this ringing a bell?????

Wish I would have saved that thread, sigh.....It was pretty clever....

Yep, it was Hotcat and he posted pix's in a couple of threads, but the most detailed was in his "lowered" thread....

Pretty ingenous stuff in that it's simple......
