Default 95 cc DS won't move at all! Scotty-david-steve-buehler?

I have 95 DS 48 volt yes the one they used that pie shaped vglide with all those small resistors on the back side of it.

Problem, was driving, and cart stopped, will not move at all!

I have 1 year old 8 volt batteries, 51.2 volts.

So far I have replaced the solenoid/ I have sent the controller to FSIP for rebuilding ( thought that was the problem), but still won't move even with rebuilt controller.

Also replaced f/r switch. Solenoid does click when you step on the pedal.

I rang out all small resistors, and they are all good. i get 0-4900 ohms when i step on pedal, reading across the vglide,.

All wires and connections are good and tight.

I don't know whatelse to try other than motor and possibly replacing vglide.

Need help and suggestions please?

As far as the motor, the only thing i did was check continuity across some terminals, as described in manual. Other than that, I don't know how to check the motor or the brushes?

If a motor has bad brushes, will it just stop completely?

I am open to try anything. This is not my cart, and the owner wants it back, and i havent been able to get it running.

I just found this in another post here on the forum, maybe try it to see if motor will run:

Disconnect and label all the wires going to the motor. Check for continuity between F1 & F2 and A1 & A2 on the motor. You should not have continuity between A1 & F1. You can also apply positive to A1 and negative to F1 and jumper across A2 and F2 and the motor should run.

Good idea!
But don't let it run too long without a load, it could really mess up the motor...

I tried checking continuity like you said. I was getting continuity between lots of places. I tried to see if the motor would run, it would not. I have another customers cart here ( 94 ds), so i pulled his motor out and put it in this other cart, and now it runs.

So it looks like it was definately the motor. Now I need to get this motor fixed/running. I don't want t new motor, unless absolutly have to. I would rather get this one rebuilt if i can?

Any suggestions?

thanks
