Starter/Gen Belt
Has anyone used a standard Gates belt for the starter/gen? I found two gates belts that match in length and width. Just wanted to check and see if it has been done before and if it will work. Didn't know if Club Car uses a special taper on the pulley or not. I don't have a cart shop near by and don't want to pay just as much for shipping as I do for the price of a belt.

i use off brand belts on my club car never had an issue. i get mine at napa they'll even get ya a clutch belt if you need . discovered that on a sunday while doing yard work .

No problem at all going aftermarket.............
I believe it uses a "3L" width belt and have found in older carts with some pulley wear that the belt rides on the bottom of the pulley instead of the sides and always slips. You can go to a "4L" or 1/2 wide belt and get it back up on the side of the pulley. |
