No Reverse ST Express PDS 48V

I still have no reverse on the EZGO ST Express. I believe there is a dead short somewhere when i try to move to reverse.

We have replaced, solenoid, ignition switch, rocker switch, Throttle Pot and has rebuilt motor.

Using a Curtis 1268-5403 controller and getting fault code 12.

When we hook up the programmer to the controller it shuts down as soon as we change the rocker switch to middle or reverse position.

We have checked the usual pins etc. and believe there is a short somewhere or maybe something else we are missing.

The cart runs perfect forward.

Any ideas?

The 1268 is a sepex controller so forward and reverse are handled internally with exception of the fnr switch. Try reversing the two outer wires on the fnr and see if it goes forward in reverse or reverse in forward.

i have tried that and it will go forward in reverse but not reverse in forward.

Guessing either the wiring is bad or the controller. Flip it to tow then disconnect the 24 pin plug on the controller. Now check for continuity from the forward reverse wires to pins 10 and 11 on the harness. If good controller is probably bad
