Re: Questions on replacing rear axle fluid on 2010 rxv
My vent tube came out really easy too. So you pumped all 27 oz through there?

Re: Questions on replacing rear axle fluid on 2010 rxv
Dropped the pan tonight and only about 10-12 oz of old black fluid came out. It must have been low, right? See pictures.
Should I put the new permatex gasket on the pan and then install, or put it on the rear itself? Was planning to put pan with new gasket back on tomorrow night, tighten about 3/4 of way and let sit to dry. Then pump all new oil through the axle vent Tuesday night. Thanks for your help. |

On rxv, you cant put it all in the pan and then install pan. It has to make it's way in after the pan is installed.

No I’m asking about the gasket. Do you put the gasket on the pan? I said I was going to pump in all of the oil through the axle vent once pan is reinstalled.

Thanks.
How about the only 10-12 oz of old oil coming out? It was really watery and black too. |

Re: Questions on replacing rear axle fluid on 2010 rxv
Can't beat the time filling through the vent whole, used a big med. Inject with a short rubber Hose, takes max. 10 min., worked perfekt! Otherwise you have to lift the Cart, remove the wheel, remove the Axle Nut and Hub, cross fingers to have the right Snapring Pliers and Shaft get out easy and after filling all things vice versa...
