Re: question about wiring
So I've made Great Progress...I called the seller of the main harness (for the Phantom Body) and after going over a few connections with him, this was his take on what I should do. Make a jumper cable between both 12v wires that plug into the relay. Unplug the front directional lights from the Y wires and plug the passenger directional wire into the Orange wire and the drivers side directional wire into the Green wire. Removed the Y wires completely and plug in the Red wires from the headlights and plug into the Brown wires.
I did all this and everything works - the turn signals (front & rear) the brake lights, the hazard lights, the horn all (except one thing) the light switch has to be on for everything to work. This is baffling my source...does anybody have any ideas? He believes it's the way the dealer's mechanic hooked up the main harness. I'll try any suggestions - Thanks |

Re: question about wiring
Has anyone done a refurb on a CC to phantom body and added the regular light kit. Did you have a reducer - and if you did how'd you wire it into the harness? This seems to be the biggest puzzle.

Re: question about wiring
PUZZLE SOLVED Yesterday a friend was over and after explaining what my dilemma was, he offered to take a look. He traced back some wires and put a multi-meter on a few spade connectors. Some had power some didn't and should have. One of the wires had 12v all the time and was split after the 12 pin connector to two wires (one of which went to my previous push/pull headlight switch). Those two wires I had put together (they were both + and I thought each controlled a headlight) WRONG. One had power to the switch the other went to the headlights. Well, they were together and were now connected to a LED rocker switch. We cut the constant power wire ( because the rocker switch was getting power from the 12v fuse block) and VOILA - I now was able to have turn signals without having the headlights "on". The other baffling issue was why there was a relay needed for the turn signals? The two (48v wires) that were supposed to be plugged into said relay had no power with ignition "on" or "off". The other two wires 12v - One had power the other didn't - We reconnected these wires with a jumper which sent power for the brake lights. Now we were DONE....Issue Resolved
