06' Precedent speed help
Searched up and down the forum for answers related to stock speed on precedent models. Have found some info related to speed codes and motor magnets etc. My question is since I don't know the history of my particular car, what is the best way to figure out where I am at?
I have a precedent PQ06 model (06' precedent professional) I am getting speeds of 16mph on my phone using the GPS speedometer app. The cart has 215/40r12 tires on it which I believe is a hair taller than stock, so by process of elimination I could have 2 options according the speed chart below? Speed Code 1 = 8 Mph Speed Code 2 = 11 Mph Speed Code 3 = 14.7 Mph Speed Code 4 = 19.7 Mph If it is set to speed code 1 with a motor magnet I could potentially see speeds of 16mph? Or it could be speed code 3 with a slightly larger diameter tire putting me at the 16ish mph range. Any input as to where I may be? If I am at speed code 3, would installing a motor magnet get me into the low to mid 20s for cheap? Trying to achieve what I can on a budget. Any help or guesstimations are appreciated. |

Re: 06' Precedent speed help
Speed code 1 also limits the maximum voltage applied to the motor so a speed magnet would not behave the same as it does with the other speed code settings.
You have Speed code 3 and a magnet will help You get close to 20 mph if everything else on the cart is good (battery, motor, cables, etc..). If You have a GE motor (flat sensor), Do not remove any screws when replacing the magnet, the sensor just snaps on the end of the Motor. |

Re: 06' Precedent speed help
Thanks for the info. I believe I have the other brand motor. ADC I think? Will verify tonight and get that magnet ordered up before I drop the cart at the club this weekend.

Re: 06' Precedent speed help
Keep in mind that those speeds are for level ground. Any hills and you will be back to 13mph.

Re: 06' Precedent speed help
So what do I have here? I opened the access panel and don't see GE or ADC on it. I think by the speed sensor it is ADC correct?

Re: 06' Precedent speed help
Got my magnet from David at Revolution today. New top speed 21mph! 5mph gain for $24, not bad.
