Default Battery Indicator alternating between 1 and 2

I have a 1999 DS series cart. The wife took it out looking at Fort Wilderness last night and brought it back essentially dead. Now the charge indicator is flashing between the first and second bar in rapid succession. Even after several hours of charge time this is continuing. Any suggestions on how to resolve? In the future I’ll make sure to tell my wife not to drain the batteries so much.

Almost sounds like the meter blitzed out.

I would get my hand-held DVM out and check the pack to be sure it did/has charged....

This happened to me too. Try clicking it into Tow then back to Run after a few seconds. Mine resets itself and goes back to showing a full charge then begins to drop after I drive it again. The only thing is I have to keep flipping the Run/Tow button to get it to reset every time.

Those meters usually need to see a specified voltage for a for a specified time period before they will reset. Let the charger finish and shutoff automatically.
As noted, checking with a hand held multimeter is always a good idea to verify any permanently installed state of charge meter.

eg. Curtis model 906 SOC meters (a typical one) need to see ~56v for 6 minutes before it will reset. (48v cart) This could vary a little but you get the idea.

Anytime you remove pack voltage from the system, then reconnect, these kind of meters will reset to full but unless you have FULLY charged the batteries it is misleading you.

Letting the charger finish to automatic shut off should reset the meter. If not then meter is probably malfunctioning.

This can also happen if batteries are nearing end of life and the charger can't bring them up to a specified voltage before the charger times out.

I should probably point out that there may be quirks in carts with OBCs that I'm not aware of. But I think in that case the meters are still getting data from the battery pack and not the OBC.
