I don't have an EZ-Go but I bought a Pyle PL97M4 receiver for my cart. It is only 4.25" deep. I didn't need a CD player since it supports SD, USB and Aux port.

So far so good; but it hasn't been through the normal beating that I put the cart through yet. I know Pyle is not the most reliable but I am hoping since it doesn't have any mechanical components like a CD player that it might hold up. The first receiver I got was a PL90MU and it was dead on arrival.

I made a custom case for it using an old front cowl, melting and bending it with a heat gun. The problem is I made it so short only a receiver that is less than 4.5" deep would fit.

The real test will be week after the 4th of July when my son takes it on all the trails.

Nice job on the mount!

I also like the fact that there's no CD drive, and it uses USB or SD card/drives.
Does it display folders and song titles? the alpine I'm looking at has a jog type dial that controls that.
How does the pyle work?

Thanks!

The Pyle will display folders and will actuall play videos too. Now I need to find a cheap projector for movie night down at the lake. :)

It's short on song titles though (standard short file names).

I like the remote except for one thing. To fast forward or reverse you hold the buttons for over two seconds. If you hold it for less than this, it advances to the next video.

The Pyle does okay for me and it was cheap. But your ride looks too nice to skimp on the radio.

Thanks for the compliment!

local best buy has the alpine in stock. I'd have to ebay the pyle.
I'll probably go the alpine way since I can go pi ck it up.

Thanks again!

Hey Jmscalf
I might suggest putting one of the marine style covers over the unit ,it will not only protect it from all the dust but it will also pull the stereo out about another 1/2 inch and then it might not hit the underside of the hood .Just a thought.

I have thought about it, But I dont really like the look of that. I guess I am one of theose "factory look" kind of guys? I have also thought about buying one of those dash covers with the locking doors in hope that it would pull it out maybe 1/8 of an inch. Thats about what I need for it to be ok. But now this pyle radio has my attention?
