If he installs the "freedom chip" and runs trails with his cart, he will go into thermal overload pretty quickly. I have the freedom chip and the chip for moderate hills (yellow) and after hitting TO once, I put the yellow one back in. Haven't had trouble on the trails again. I'll save the speed chip for special occasions, but it won't go in and stay in. I hope to rig that way of changing them by a set of toggle switches like I've read on here.

I read it on here somewhere. Someone has already built them for sale. Sure would be convenient to just change the mode without having to back out the four bolts holding the cover on the controller.
