Installing a seperate 12V power source
If I want to add a 12V battery to my cart, is it best to try to put it in underneath the seat or put it in the bagwell and fabricate some kind of cover?
I have a separate trickle charger for my motorcycle and I don't mind lifting the seat on the golf car to charge it. I want to do whatever makes the most since. |

Re: Installing a seperate 12V power source
I looked into and asked about this about 15 years ago it seems but it was reccomended to mount it under the seat and fabricate 2 cross bars out of aluminum "L" channel, and to go to WalMart and get a good sized lawn tractor battery, as this would be large enough to power lights and a radio for the length a full charge on the cart batteries would last. just helpin out

Re: Installing a seperate 12V power source
Thanks for the replies. I have read in a few places that some folks use a deep cycle marine battery. I was thinking of just using my trolling motor battery. I've got plenty of access to angle iron and can definitely fab something up for underneath the seat.

Re: Installing a seperate 12V power source
buddy48, if your cart is a TXT a 12v battery will fit under the driver seat without any fabrication:
This is a 6v battery, but you get the idea. |
