Default Installing a seperate 12V power source

If I want to add a 12V battery to my cart, is it best to try to put it in underneath the seat or put it in the bagwell and fabricate some kind of cover?

I have a separate trickle charger for my motorcycle and I don't mind lifting the seat on the golf car to charge it. I want to do whatever makes the most since.

I looked into and asked about this about 15 years ago it seems but it was reccomended to mount it under the seat and fabricate 2 cross bars out of aluminum "L" channel, and to go to WalMart and get a good sized lawn tractor battery, as this would be large enough to power lights and a radio for the length a full charge on the cart batteries would last. just helpin out

Thanks for the replies. I have read in a few places that some folks use a deep cycle marine battery. I was thinking of just using my trolling motor battery. I've got plenty of access to angle iron and can definitely fab something up for underneath the seat.

buddy48, if your cart is a TXT a 12v battery will fit under the driver seat without any fabrication:

This is a 6v battery, but you get the idea.
