Re: Is 97 DCS Cart incapable? Please Help!!
Valid point and if the DCS thing didn't work out, you would have to change the motor and controller anyway. Nothing would be lost by going to 48v first,

Re: Is 97 DCS Cart incapable? Please Help!!
I bought everything as a kit and it set me back about $1200, not including 48v worth of batteries and a new charger (another $1000) not sure if your controller is compatible, but Plum Quick can probably rewind your motor for around $300ish. Contact them, I'm about to. Speed is expensive, I love mine, I've had this set-up for about 3 yrs but I want to up my voltage to 72v now. It'll never be enough no matter what route you go, it is for me anyway!

bokeasmowl, are you putting 72v through an E-Z-GO or some other cart? When you do it, post some vids!

Re: Is 97 DCS Cart incapable? Please Help!!
ok guys sorry it took so long but here is the reply from alltrax
Sir,When you upgrade to 48 volts, a new solenoid is needed, the MZJ 200 is a very good solenoid. Also as discussed, the B+ & M- wires (big wires to motor) should be upgraded to 2 gage (or bigger) for heat dissipation and current flow (amperage). Run the controller with turbo off, and plug brake off. In a hunting application it may also be necessary to have full power in reverse (no half speed). also he doesnt mention anything about the under and overvoltage settings what should those be set to remember im upgrading to 48v i have tried to ask him but he doesnt give a straight reply on this |

Re: Is 97 DCS Cart incapable? Please Help!!
On 48v the charger needs 36v to turn on so I set the under voltage there. The charger may run the pack up to 63v before shutting off.....I set over voltage I to 60v (that's max, right?).... Hope this helps

Boke... Are you bringing that cart to the OLC golf car show? I wanna see how a warmed over 36 volt DCS cart will stack up to your 48 volt conversion.... |
