89 EZGO-Light Knocking Noise While Running
Hello,
I just purchased an 89 EZGO. It has a light knocking noise while the engine is running. It does this while standing still or moving. The previous owner said it has done this for a long time. It sounds like, to me anyway, that the primary clutch is knocking. So my questions would be: 1)Are these known for this? 2)Are there multiple clutches for this or did they all use the same? 3)Can the clutch be rebuilt? 4)Is there a better clutch? 5)Does the clutch take a special puller, like a snowmobile, to remove it? Thank you in advance for your help, Dean |

First off,if it is that, you can take the cover off the clutch and see if something came apart. Just some small bolts to take that off. To get the whole clutch off, you do need a puller for it. It's a 30 year old cart, anything is possible to fail. Sure there are better clutches, and better motors, rear ends, etc..
