Alltrax 4855 ITS 500A controller- rebuild or buy new?

You program the different parameters through the controller. How fast you want to take off...etc. Not sure what cable is needed, someone will chime in with that. But it's easy to do once you figure out how to.

Their software is free, but not available for apple. A 650 (or SPM600) will gain you NO more top speed, if they were both set to 100% speed, the default setting. The cord for a older "AXE" model was a "usb to serial" cable, the new SPM just uses a usb printer cord (usb type "a" to usb type "b").

Thanks. Cg. I do have access to a dell laptop with latest version of windows on it so with the right cord i should be able to do it on that. Im gonna get with Scotty and make an order. Thanks for the suggestions an help everyone.

Reprogramming the SPM control is nothing but fun compared with the chore of programming the AXE and DCX controls. BUT, you don't have to program it to use it. The control comes preset to the most commonly used parameters. It's really a plug and play unit and programming is optional.
