Re: stunt /go fast button
okay update
went home at lunch and fixed it you will need a 2 big wires hook those 2 big wires to the 2 big post on the solenoid and then run them down to the 2 post on the motor(motor side not the brush side).then get some skinny wire and hook it to one of the skinny post on the solenoid and run it to the button. then get another skinny wire and hook it to the other skinny post on the solenoid and run it to the - post on the battery pack . then get one more skinny wire and hook it to the other side of the button and run it to the +post of the battery pack . went home at lunch and fixed it all up and took it down the street and man it work . ill get just how fast it made me before I was running 17-19 mph . when I get home to night ill check to see just how fast . |

Re: stunt /go fast button
Keep an eye on the motor temperature, Ive heard they heat up more with field shorting.

Re: stunt /go fast button
I don't doubt that at all. Field weakening or shorting has been around since series motors were invented. I was more curious than anything about the supposed higher motor temperature while operating with the field coil shorted.

Re: stunt /go fast button
I am also curious how much more current is drawn by the motor while the field is shorted. Simple theory would suggest it would almost double since the field is bypassed and you reduce the resistance of the motor by half.
