Default 1988 ez-go gas cart

Just picked up a gas cart with serial # 496413 and manufactures code J1788. Interned says, if I read right, this is a 1988 model made in April. of that year. I previously had a 79 model but this one is a little different. Is any of the ignition under the flywheel. Do you time it like the 79 model. I don't see oil injection like earlier years. Did it have one or is it disconnected. Any help appreciated.

88 did have oil injection, so it was removed. Which is a good thing. Pulsar is under the flywheel for timing.

I found photo of oil injection. Photo not real clear but looks like pump bolts to air shroud. My shroud has no hole so the pump could bolt to or go through to the crank to get turned. I also found where oil tank is supposed to be. The studs where it would mount has paint on them as no nuts were even on them. Could have been repainted but sure looks like no repaint ever happened.
Shouldn't there be mounting holes on air shroud?

Post a picture of your engine area. We can tell by looking at the exhaust, and other things.

My 87 has the oil injection blanking screw, but has no hole in the fan shroud either. I always assumed that somebody replaced the shroud with an earlier one, now I'm wondering if it was a factory option to delete the oiler.
