1991 Marathon no click, no run
Hello all, I am new, I went through the stickies and hopefully I am not beating a dead horse as it were.
New batteries, 38 volts btwn BL- and BL+, when I check the solenoid post on the battery side I get 25 volts, approximately, on the post on the controller side I get 38 volts. I have seen where it says if I get the same voltage on the back post towards controller it says to replace the solenoid. My question: do I need to have the correct voltage on the front post of the solenoid , i.e.-38 volts to establish that the 38 volts on the back post means I need a new solenoid? The solenoid is supposed to be new, bought it new and it looks brand new. And please anything you feel could help in the way of suggestions I would gladly welcome. Thank you in advance. |

Re: 1991 Marathon no click, no run
GO here for the basics like getting the solenoid to click. That's the first big step towards getting it to run

Re: 1991 Marathon no click, no run
I jumped the posts on the solenoid and got movement. So, the solenoid was backwards. Repositioned correctly and we were off. Now, of course, on to the next problem. We live in some fairly steep hills and it is pretty slow going on the upslope.
Are there any ways to increase speed up hill, like a conversion kit? If it would be through a conversion kit, would it cause the rest of this 25 yr old system to fail? Thanks |
