The fact it is running fine in reverse would lead me to believe 1 of the 3 I mention are the issue.


TYVM for the responses. Sorry for my delay - life continues to get in the way of this new hobby, or... er... um...../sneeze obsession....... /sneeze

1 - looked / felt tight at the hub / drum

2 - No Melting, but sure wish it had been.

3 - Brushes look great - but something taint right - see attached pic.

Can I repair this myself or replace just the armature section?

Armature is trash. Yes it can be rewound. Usually to do that, its half the price of a new motor. You will have to figure out what you want to do. You could look for a used armature.
