Default 2013 EZ go TXT seems to have lost some oomph.

Hey gang, as I said 2013 EZ go 48v TXT. I bought it last August, new batteries at the time. Today we were riding our niece on the road and the cart was going slower than it has been. Looking for the most common issues that may cause this. I haven't checked the pack voltage or each battery voltage. But it's definitely noticeable weaker. Not sure if the charger is bringing the pack back up fully. We only use the cart on weekends, and not much at all then. Maybe motor, controller, anything else?? Thanks.

When I just plugged the charger in I got the typical slow flashing green light. I just noticed it today so I haven't done any troubleshooting yet. Just looking for some possibilities so when I do start looking I'll know more to check.

Check batteries first. Check them 12 hours after charge completes. Then again under load when it's going slow. Troubleshooting without checking battery health first is tripping on your own shoelaces.

So I guess I have to disconnect all the batteries to check them individually? Any "how to" suggestions on checking golf cart batteries?

Like stated above you need to check out the batteries first. Here is a link to the Battery sticky at the top of this forum -------

Also check out http://www.cartsunlimited.net/battery-faq.html for a great write-up on batteries in general.

And no, you don't need to disconnect the batteries for the initial testing. Check pack voltage at the main + and - connections

You don't have to disconnect anything, just measure from one terminal to the other on the same battery to get individual battery voltages. Go from main Negative to main Positive to get battery pack voltage.

Thanks guys. This is my first golf cart. But being a diesel owner you have to disconnect the batteries to test each one so I figured as much with 6 batteries.

That is because of how they are wired. In a golf cart they are connected different than a 12 volt truck.

Definitely look at pack voltage and if one is low, check water. If you did not use over the winter and were not maintaining them, that can bite you in the Ars.

I fogot to check water level in the summer and then again in the fall when winterizing a jetski and the battery was toast in the spring.
