Default Curtis SePex 1264 Controller, is it Bad?

Status light doesn’t work.

Ran pin check and J1-8 has no BRV.

ITS white wire has no reading when pedal depressed. Tried two other ITS’ I had.

Just want to check everything before ordering new controller on 2006 shuttle.

Any ideas???

If it’s bad, what do I upgrade to? Going to lift shuttle and add larger wheel/ tires. I know someone has suggested this controller will handle the larger wheel tire combo.

I don't have my manuals at the ready right now, phone puked a memory card, but no controller will test good (or show life) if all it's inputs are dead. I would get a wire diagram for that controller, see which ones should be live when tow/run is on, and go from there. I tend to think your controller is getting no power. Keep in mind, controllers do more than output power, some of their inputs from the cart have to be powered up.

I have done what you said from the manual and my findings are above in the original post.

You were offered help. If you buy a new controller and don't provide any input on pins 1 - 8, you will have wasted your money, and will still have a cart that doesn't run.

You need to find out WHY you have no power going to the controller.

In my original post I said I had no power on pin 8.

Oops. My bad, I reread and mistook P1 - 8 as pins 1 - 8.

I have a series, so I have only 4 pins.

Sorry

A 1268 is pretty much a drop in replacement for a 1264. The 64s are obsolete junk replaced by the 68. So if it you want something similar I'd go with a 1268-5411 or 1268-5502 (extra 100A) both of these are ITS throttle types.

Troubleshooting wise the main thing you want to look at is pins 2 and 4, they both need B+ for the control to turn on in addition to B- post. If both of those are good check pin13 it should be about 12~15V (ITS High side) but it indicates the primary voltage regulator is working. You can also check J3-4 (approx 12V) this is the handset supply.

This manual is for the 1268 but 90% of that info is valid for a 64 as well.
