Default Need New Charger (DPI or Lester) ??

So my Powerwise finally died after 15 years. Ready to upgrade my 48 volt TXT charger. I've been looking at the DPI and Lester Summit II on Scotty website and need to make a decision. Right now I have three year old Interstate GC8-HCL-UTL 8 volt batteries in the cart. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,

Shane

2¢ I had a DPI gen 3. Was fine but just quit after 5.5 years. New Gen 4 doesn't have float option I don't think so got a Lester Summit11 1050W version because it charges at a higher rate than the 650W model. Not much difference in price. So far so good.

DPI lost a portion of their market share when they stopped doing float charge.

I prefer the Summit 650w
It does everything I want in a charger.
It is compact and lightweight. (1050w is larger)
It charges 36 and 48 volt carts
It uses multiple cords for multiple carts.
It has a Bluetooth app with charge history and selectable algorithms for specific brand and model batteries.
It has a 4 year warranty, DPI is 2 yr
There is an algorithm with a float mode.

Of note on the bigger 1050w it is considered a commercial duty charger. It does 24,36,48v. Lots of old floor scrubbers and lifts are 24v, not so many carts. As mentioned there is a higher output but that output does not always play nice with some of the charge cordsets and older cable connections. If you are using this one make sure everything is in tip top condition. I have had the 1050w onboard my TXT48 for 3 yrs without a hickup. And the T875s are quite happy.

But the 650w is my everyday everything else charger, even my high capacity 8/6v industrial pack is quite happy with this unit. Personally I think this may be the best charger on the market today.

I also use the Summit II charger. Use it on a 48 Volt MPT 1000 with 8 six volt batteries. Works very well over a year now. The early app to connect Bluetooth was bad but after updates and deleting then reinstalling has worked.

DPI Gen IV has a equalization mode if that is important to you.

Any Summit Dealer can order the 42v version. Wait is about 4-6 wks. I think Lester makes them upon demand.
Most dealers are not willing to stock this item due to the low demand.
