Re: Need New Charger (DPI or Lester) ??
I did not think the Summit provided any Lead Acid Profiles with "float" as You guys are referencing, they only had the "float" for AGM profiles.
Here is a direct reply from Lester on the subject: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ml#post1615230 |

Re: Need New Charger (DPI or Lester) ??
My Summit 11 doesn't float, but it will initiate a refresh cycle. I've caught it in the act.
Battery profile 22000 (Crown CR190) I don't know the answer to the float or not float question. Seems to be who you ask dependent. I can find credible resources for both opinions. My Crowns have been on a Gen 3 Dpi for 5.5 years until it quit last July. Batteries and charger purchased new simultaneously. The batteries are just now starting to show the first signs of range reduction but difficult to say how much because this is the time of year range typically goes down because of decrease in average temp. I suspect chargers with float capacity will be less available in the future because of California's vampire electricity legislation. Just a guess. |
