Solid State Upgrade question
I am in the process of rebuilding an early 80's Marathon. Not sure on the year, but not newer than 88. Keeping it original with the exception of the electrical update. Question is, I am going to go with a PB-6 pot box and an Alltrax SR48300 300 amp Controller. Not upgrading to 48v sticking with 36. I have a new stock solenoid, is this big enough to work in this configuration. Any other info would be helpful.
Thanks Bruce |

Re: Solid State Upgrade question
YES. the original was a 275 amp configuration....the extra 25a available isn't going to really change anything.

Re: Solid State Upgrade question
The SR48300 has a peak output of 350 amps but yeah, even that won't be a real seat of the pants upgrade and yes the Alltrax website shows this controller works with the stock solenoid.... don't forget the pre-charge resistor and diode as shown in your operator manual.

Re: Solid State Upgrade question
Thanks for the replies. I thought it would but decided to go with the heavy duty solenoid. And yes resistor and diode.

Re: Solid State Upgrade question
The stock solenoid was marginal for stock use, you made the right decision.
