electric ezgo engine swap
ok so I have an electric ezgo I think txt, it says freedom on the side, no motor and no batteries. I also have an older gas ezgo but the axle has no reverse. All this was free. The idea was to swap the axle into the new nicer ezgo and put a 4 stroke engine in and done. But no reverse.
Just want to confirm the easiest way to get the nicer electric cart going with gas motor is to get an axle out of a newer gas ezgo and swap the axle in? Thoughts? Suggestions? welding and wiring and all that is not a problem. Seems like the older ezgo with one direction trans just needs to go away? My engine is only 15hp... |

Re: electric ezgo engine swap
There was an outfit, Boulder Engines, that came up with re-power kits to convert from electric to gas powertrain. They were a site sponsor at one time, but I don't see them there now. I don't have any experience with their kits, no idea what their prices would be. They did have some type of transmission to shift forward / reverse, so it might be worth at least looking into.
