Default 36/48 voltage reducer problem

My voltage reducer is only working part time wierdest thing it will run all of the 12 volt accessories and then when I turn the cart off and back on I get nothing from the voltage reducer is there a relay inside the cover I can check. All of the wiring has been checked and everything there is good. Hoping SottyB will chime in since he sells this same brand.

Might help if you laid out how you wired it up. Might just be you are on the wrong pole of the key switch

your right, I wired it based on the provided instructions the green wire to the key switch the yellow wire to the positive battery black to negative battery red to positive fuse box. The green wire was placed on the key switch terminal that only had power when the switch was turned on.

So I guess what’s happening is it works sometimes when you turn the ignition on and as soon as you turn it off then it stops working when you immediately try to turn it back on?

Question Re: 36/48 voltage reducer problem

It could be a thermal shut out. If you had it running lights and such once you cut it off it builds up temperature for a bit. Then it cools down. It could be your just not letting it cool down enough before you try it again.
Not 100% about it but it does heat up if used a lot.

Actually it will work fine today and tomorrow it will not work, when it works it will run for an extended period of time but when I come back the next day it does not work.

How old is it? Could just be going bad. Could be something has let go inside.

Yeah sounds like it’s either going bad OR you have a short somewhere. If you can confirm power at the red wire every time you turn it on then you know it’s something at the fuse box. If not it may be your harness plug connector (mine was a bitch to get lined up and snapped together fully). OR it’s a short in the green wire someplace.

I think its going bad because when it is not working I don't have any power at the fuse box, I will probably try replacing the green wire and see if that changes anything and if not just replace it.
Thanks

I assume it has always worked in the past? If not I would check my connection at the harness plug. You may have a corroded connector there
