Question 96 EZ-GO 36V Shutters in FWD but fine in REV

I have a 96 EZ-GO 36V, that has always ran great, it sat last year until I could afford new batteries. I put all new batteries and cables in it and now it shutters when I try to move FWD, however REV works fine. I put a new solenoid in thinking that might be the problem but that didnt work... I lifted the rear off the ground to see if the wheels would move, but they still wouldnt in FWD. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? Thanks for your help!

Worn motor brushes would be my guess or the wire has melted off the brush due to excessive wear and is making intermittent contact with the armature.

Does that mean its time for a new motor?

I doubt it's the motor. Check the contacts on the F-N-R switch.

i would also say your issue is with your f-n-r switch. check those terminals there.

The f-n-r switch appears to be ok with no broken wires or lose connections. Am I missing something?

what about connection on motor. One loose/bad connection will cause a shutter

You might want to disassemble the FNR to allow cleaning the contact surfaces. You may get by however, by flipping the FNR handle multiple times.

I took the FNR apart and cleaned it....still no luck. I noticed that the wires from the control box to the motor get warm if I press the accelerator for a minute or so while in forward. It still acts like it wants to move forward but just cant go...
