Help with tires
I got a 94 EZGO medalist that has a box on it. I use is for hauling wood and stuff.
I have the stock 18-8.5-8 tires on it, great for on grass, but that is about it. I go in to the woods, not swampy but a little muddy, would like to get a super lug tire. The question that I have will a 18-9.5-8 fit on my cart, I know that it is 1.5 inches wider, but I don't want it to rub. Also how would these tires work on the front for turning. Will these tires tare up my lawn? Or do I go with the super lugs on the back and a ( turf type tire)on the front. I would use the stock rims. Also I need to put HD springs on the back, any one have the right part # or know what spring that I need? Thanks Lickity Split |

Re: Help with tires
You can find tractor lug tires in stock sizes.... they work good but, they will tear up the lawn turning on wet grass etc... if you have stock tires in front you may have trouble turning in the muddy woods. Bottom line is it is a trade off ~ Whatever works best in the woods tears up the lawn & whatever is easiest on the lawn leaves you slipping and sliding in the woods
My advice is put the big meaty lugs on it ~ The joy of tearing up the woody trails will remain long after the lawn has healed |

Re: Help with tires
Ok just spent a hour searching for a 18 x8.5 x8 super lug tire and no luck.
I tried all of the sponsors, no luck. Do you think that 1 inch in width will matter, what if I make wheel spacers for the tire? Or can I get a different rim with a different off set, what is the off set of a stock rim. Thanks Lickity Split |
