3-wheeled golf carts are kind of like 3-wheeled ATV's. There is a reason they dont make them any more. Safety. If you are going to restore it and there will only be adults driving it, occasionally, it should be fine and $125 is a good invenstment even if the batteries are bad. If you want to do any type of modifications to it (lift, bigger wheels/tires, more motor) I would look around for a 4-wheel cart. You can pick up a good "project" cart for less than $1000 if you shop smart.

I agree with ekgguy, a 3 wheel resistor cart or gas is not a good starter cart, you will be replacing coils and wiper boards ever time you turn around (don't ask me how I know) Keep looking and find you a 4 wheel controller cart,trust me you will be a lot happier.
