Default What upgraded controller did you go with?

So, I've got a 2000 36Volt EZ Go and I want to upgrade the contoller.

What did you go with? How much of a difference did it make, and where did you get it?

I'm looking for more torque.

Thanks!

If it is a series cart, more torque is easy to get with a 400a AXE control and HD solenoid. I got mine at Carts Unlimited, free shipping too.

Seriously, give us some more info like what mods you plan and why you need more torque, so we can help.

I've heard very good things about those guys...

4 seat cart, barely over stock size tires. Not too much hilly terrain, but up a boat launch ramp with four fat guys puts a load on things.

Only real mods are 2 gauge cables, new Trojan batteries, if it runs good, I'll leave it alone. If not, I'm calling Plumb Quick for a motor.

Just a 400amp controller and HD solenoid will increase hill pulling torque by nearly 50%

You need a HD switch cam too

You have to watch out for those Carts Unlimited guys... Sometimes you place an order and you get what you ordered, oh and it arrives on time. The technical support is very good and helpful. Definetly not the industry norm with those guys...

Oh the only real choice for controller is Alltrax.

HD switch cam? Is that for the Forward/Reverse swithch? You don't happen to know where someone could get all this stuff? Do you??

If you plan on keeping the cart and doing upgrades go big and get it over with or a 400 or 500 amp will give you a nice difference in torque also. I used to have the 500 amp alltrax. Real nice controller.

Ya, I figured that, I was just being sarcastic.

Thanks for the advise though!
